With its simultaneous combination of actions, the OdrA orthotic device’s revolutionary mechanism rapidly and efficiently relieves pain associated with knee osteoarthritis by providing:

Medial distraction

When the leg is extended in the “stance phase” (standing), a medial hinge causes the orthotic device to extend, creating a DISTRACTION between the femur and tibia. This action reduces the pressure placed on the painful knee joint.

Lateral rotation

The device’s lateral hinge causes the joint to shift back along its midline, provoking an outward ROTATION of the foot. This rotation blocks the abduction that causes painful pinching in the knee.

What makes OdrA unique?

The OdrA orthotic device is the most technologically advanced solution to relieve knee osteoarthritis.

OdrA is a mechanical solution to a mechanical problem: an “Orthotic for distraction and rotation in (osteo) Arthritis”, which provides immediate and lasting pain relief.

The twin “distraction–rotation” action is OdrA’s distinguishing features. It eases friction in the medial knee compartment and provides immediate pain relief to people suffering from knee osteoarthritis.

Who can wear it ?

Since 2012, more than 4,000 patients have been fitted with an OdrA orthotic device.

The OdrA device must be prescribed by a doctor or specialist and is highly recommended for patients who:

  • Suffer from knee osteoarthritis (grades I to IV)
  • Suffer daily (or regularly) when going up and down stairs/inclines, and during physical activity (such as walking)
  • No longer tolerate or get relief from anti-inflammatory drugs
  • Are on a surgery waiting list
