• Is the OdrA orthotic device guaranteed ?

  Yes, the OdrA orthotic device is fully refundable in the month following delivery if the patient does not experience a significant reduction in pain or is unable to wear the device due to discomfort, providing that the OdrA follow-up appointments have taken place as prescribed. The straps, articulation covers, and other replaceable pieces are guaranteed for a period of 6 months. A 12-month guarantee applies to major defaults caused by defective materials and inadequate assembly. With a return rate of less than 1%, the OdrA orthotic device benefits from a very high level of patient satisfaction.

• Who would benefit most from the Odra orthotic device ?

  All people affected by an osteoarthritis of the internal knee compartment who experience pain and are seeking an improved level of activity would benefit from the Odra orthotic device.

• Does the Odra orthotic device affect the evolution of osteoarthritis ?

  There’s no conclusive answer to this question yet but as the OdrA orthotic device reduces the pressure on the part of the knee known as the condyle, it’s possible that the device may help slow the evolution of osteoarthritis. It has been clinically proven, however, that the OdrA orthotic device provides pain relief and paves the way for increased physical activity. What’s more, the device promotes improved post-surgical rehabilitation by allowing the patient to be more physically active.

• Is the OdrA orthotic device effective for patients who are overweight ?

  Yes, our records show that this type of patient responds well to the Odra orthotic device.

• Can a patient who has had meniscus surgery wear an OdrA orthotic device?

  The OdrA orthotic device is not contraindicated for patients who have undergone meniscus surgery.

• Does the OdrA orthotic device function only when the knee is supporting weight (when standing or during activities) ?

  Distraction occurs during the entire process of limb extension and reaches its point of maximum efficacy when at full extension. OdrA’s progressive action mechanism provides comfort over a long period. In fact, the average daily duration of wear is 8 hours, thanks to the combined effect of its simultaneous multiple functions.

• Is it possible to try a OdrA orthotic device before purchasing one?

  As all OdrA orthotic devices are custom-made to fit each patient, it’s unfortunately not possible to try the device before purchasing one. However, our satisfaction guarantee stipulates that if you are not 100% satisfied with your OdrA orthotic device in the month following its delivery we will refund you in full.

• Can the OdrA orthotic device be worn all day ?

  On average, based on different clinical studies, patients wear the OdrA orthotic device for more than 8 hours a day. It is particularly comfortable when compared to other orthotic devices.

• Is it possible to practice sports while wearing the OdrA orthotic device ?

  Yes, it is possible to practice sports (in moderation) while wearing the OdrA orthotic device.

• Is it possible to wear OdrA orthotic devices on both knees ?

  Yes, it is possible to wear OdrA orthotic devices on both knees. However, depending on your morphology, there’s a possibility that the devices will knock against each other when you walk.

• Can wearing an OdrA orthotic device help me to postpone or entirely avoid knee surgery ?

  Currently existing studies do not support the hypothesis that the OdrA orthotic device will help you to postpone or entirely avoid knee surgery. However, it’s clinically proven that wearing an OdrA orthotic device provides patients with considerable pain relief and allows them to continue their daily activities. By helping patients to avoid a sedentary lifestyle, which promotes better physical health, the OdrA orthotic device provides better conditions for post-surgery recovery.
  

• Can the OdrA orthotic device help reduce my medications ?

  Each patient is unique. Clinical studies have shown than 1 in 3 people who wear an OdrA orthotic device completely stopped taking medications after 12 months of use.

• Can I wear my OdrA orthotic device on top of my clothing ?

  No, the OdrA orthotic device must be worn in direct contact with the skin in order for distraction to occur.

• Do you conduct follow-up sessions with your patients once their OdrA orthotic device is delivered ?

  Of course! We contact our patients by telephone 2 days after the delivery of their device and in-person 3 times: 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months after the delivery of their orthotic device. We also send a complete follow-up report to each patient’s family physician.

• How long does an OdrA orthotic device last? When should it be replaced ?

  Unless you experience a major physical change (for instance, if you lose a substantial amount of weight), which would necessitate that a new custom-built device be made, your OdrA orthotic device will last a minimum of 3 years when worn according to prescribed usage and when you follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for storage.
  

• Will the OdrA orthotic device cause any irritations or side effects ?

  Aside from some patients who initially experienced irritation from rubbing—which is easily corrected by adjusting the device, there have been no reported side effects relating to the OdrA orthotic device, which provides non-invasive and non-metabolic treatment.

• How much does an OdrA orthotic device cost ?

  Each custom-made OdrA orthotic device costs CA$2,450. This cost is covered by most private health insurance policies and comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee for the period of 1 month following delivery (on presentation of original receipt of purchase).

• My orthopedist told me that the OdrA orthotic device is covered by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec. Is this true ?

  The OdrA orthotic device is not covered by the RAMQ but it is covered by most private health insurance policies.
